Poem -

FREE AT LAST

For nearly forty years he was kept behind barsĀ
Dreaming one day he'd see the sun and starsĀ
Always said he didn't commit the terrible crime
DNA has now proved he wasn't there at the time

Maurice Hastings was convicted back in 83
A single gunshot was fired but it was not heĀ
A lady named Roberta was pronounced deadĀ
The gunshot found its way into her headĀ

"A terrible injustice" that's according to the DAĀ
Mister Hastings was emotional needless to say
Finally will get to see the sun and those starsĀ
Thankfully no longer kept behind prison bars
