Freedom

Once upon a time
I was not me
I lived only to please
I would run and race, almost everyday
And while doing all of this
I had to look a certain way
Thinner, smarter, sexier and slick
A mother, lover, worker and daughter
I pushed and I pull myself this way and that
Thinking my only value was attached to my look
To the size of my waist, my wage packet and dinner on the table for six
In front of a mirror I now sit, a little wider, older and wiser
Freedom has put a smile on my face
The beauty I now see comes from with-in

Congratulations Louise, this is a beautiful write of you realizing your true individuality. The way society perceives us to be isn't who we really are, but we are who we are. Well done allstars.
