FREEDOMS WAKE

FREEDOMS WAKE

Like a bird in a tree
Or a fish in the sea.
I fought my whole life
To be wild to be free.
I drowned my soul
In whisky and beer
Ran far away
When you ever got near.
If I ever hurt you
Or caused you some pain
I hope in your heart
You'll forgive me again
Like a old fashioned hero
In an old dusty book
I saved all my good
deeds for you.
you know all the ones
that I cheated and lied,
But for you I have
 always been true.
