                The Friend you gave

This morning I knelt to pray, and thanked the Lord for the friend I made. Within my heart the voice was clear, and I knew the Lord was near, his word was with power as it thundered in my soul, my heart was faint when he spoke as in the days of old. 
Did you make this friend ? He proclaimed ! Can you see your vanity and your shame ? I set the stars into the sky, I made the earth , and gave birds wings to fly,
I alone created this friend you count so dear, and I made her heart to draw near, will you be there on the day to open the gates of pearl ? Are you able to redeem and save this girl ?
This indeed is not the friend you made, but this is the friend I gave.
I knew you needed someone to trust, someone to make you smile , a friend was a must, so, I reached into my treasures and pulled out my best, someone to give your heart rest,
I saw your pain and struggles with life, when you get discourage, angered and strife. So cherish this friend till I bring you home with me , to walk the streets of gold into eternity, to dine at my table of grace , and sit in your chosen place.
So , arise my child and be not afraid , the friend you cherish is the friend I gave.
