A Very Gracious Goodbye

From my Raven Collection

 A Very Gracious Goodbye

Do not weep for me
let your heart not feel sorrow
for my life
now faded into yesterday
with no more tomorrow

wish me well
as it is I, who will weep
it is I who will feel the loss
without touch or a vision of your smile

achievement
of all that I wished for
is the greatest pair of shoes
I could have ever worn
and I wore them well

and now as I amble from day to day
into eternity
forever knowing
I no longer leave footprints
I know you still think of me
and I will sleep well.

Gotta get around to seeing all my Pins.
This one, a word not wasted, once.

Most deeply humbled dearest Rory, thank you so much for your compassion and beautiful words. I seem to write a lot about loss and what it feels to lose, but today I've turned it on it's head, and I am thrilled you see it. 🌹

Turning round the grief to that who has gone, always finding new ways to write about it. Thank you my dearest Marion, hopefully this can give some peace? 🌹 ❤️
