Poem -

From the stars to the moon and gone.

From the stars to the moon and gone.

She was the new girl in school, he was the captain of the basketball team,
And it came as a surprise to all, when they became a thing.
She was diagnosed with cancer when she was only 12 years old,
while he was winning MVP's while playing basketball.

After school he'd wait for her, every single day,
Where then they'd find a grassy hill to talk and sit and lay,
And watch the clouds soon disappear,
When hours passed and they'd draw so near.

And every night they'd sneak out late,
To watch the moon rise and fade,
And watch the stars shine so bright,
And light up the world like fire-flies.

It felt as though it couldn't get better than this,
Until he lit up her world with just one simple kiss.
And on that night he promised, he'd never leave her side,
Not even in death, not even in life.

Three months later, she joined the sky,
And he lay on that hill every night,
Keeping his promise, a tear in his eye,
He admired her beauty, among all the other fire-flies.

Achingly beautiful. True love will forever live...long after the soul passes.

Your words deeply reflect that forever love.

The mention of fire-flies, was the red bow which sealed this masterpiece.

Beautiful ink.
