Poem -

From Where I Sit

Corruption, consumption
Commodities sold
A great malfunction
The truth be told
Fighting the fire
That is burning within
Buried in lies
Passed down to our kin

Protection? Deception
It's a con man's game
A kind of perception
It is always the same
It's an eye for an eye
A competitive battle
The whole world is blind
And herded like cattle

Pacified, advertised
Material bliss
Ignore the sacifice
That's so easily missed
As sure as the sun rises
And the moon returns home
This path which we walk
We leave the seeds to be sewn

Well now - corruption, what's new?
We have to live with it whatever we do - you should know that by now.

We are all faced with the choice to be silent only to remain stagnant or we can speak out and hope that change can one day be possible through awareness. I choose the latter. Clearly, you have reserved your choice as well and it is a shame it is what it is.

May you one day have hopes for your species to move forward and out of the downward spiral it has been plumetting through for generations.
