The Game Of Chess

The Game Of Chess

They stand in rolls of multiple checked corners

Eight pieces to sacrifice and eight pieces to spare

Sixteen pieces for you and sixteen for me.

I may be black and you may be white

Victory is sure, as pieces are lost

Protect the Kings as all shall fight

The Queens are boundless with territory they own

The King is King but weak to move

The center is promise for all who own

We battle for promise we trade for compromise

Knights before your Kings as the night is near.

Long lives the King! As Bishops we pray.

Out with the board let’s play for real.

It’s my pawn from E2 to E4 while your Pawn from E7 to E6

My B1 knight takes to C3 while your Bishop holds B4 from F8.

My knight withdraws from C3 to E2 while your pawn moves from D7 to D5

My pawn threatens your brave Bishop C2 to C3 and your Bishop re-thinks his bravery from B4 to C5.

My E4 pawn marches into no-mans-land (E5) your knight emerges sending a warning by jumping from B8 to C6

My D2 pawn takes 2 bold steps to D4 to your Bishop as it stood before his knight at B6 in retreat.

My knight at G1 charged forward to F3, which made your G8 knight, move to E7 before your King.

My E2 knight to G3 so both knight stood together while your H7 pawn moved to H6

My F1 Bishop goes B5 and your C8 bishop goes C7 your knight caught in between

My G3 knight to H5 in responds your king is taken into the castle for safety in G8 and your castle at F8

My F3 knight to H4 and your A7 pawn moves to A6

My B5 bishop takes your knight at C6 and your D7 Bishop had the last laugh taking my C6 bishop all for himself (no blood spilled)

My C1 bishop pounced on H6 pawn in a manner of rage and haste while your G7 pawn had the pleasure of taking my Bishop at H6

My queen gracefully moves from D1 to G4 (Check) while your knight before your king E7 to G6

A Knight for a Knight (Nxg6: fxg6)

A pawn is useless to a king before a Queen Qxg6+:Kh8

Your King may pace to the left or to the right, whatever the case may be it’s Queen to G7# (Mate!!!).
