Gaze

Gaze

Gazing.
Gazing
into the
night sky,
as billions
have done
before.
Looking into
infinity.
Contemplating
existence,
reality.
Realizing
all on this
mote we live,
confined.
Like a prison,
confined.
A prison of
thought.
Colloquial
in nature.
A prison
of reality.
Civilization
as is confined,
confined
by primitive
instincts.
Primitive
knowledge.
Knowledge
derived in
insignificance.
All that is
known dwarfed
by all that’s
not known.
Dwarfed
by everything,
everything
out there,
way out there.
Ensconced in
our cradle,
part of the
whole.
Yet, like
fish
in a bowl
knowing
not much of
anything!
Humbling
it be.

Hi Cherie

“and to be amazed that I am a part of whatever the bigger plan is,  ya know? “
That’s an important point. Don’t think it’s just a coincidence that we exist!

I felt as though your words were coming straight out of my mind and heart....there is a frustration to living a life and yet not knowing any if the answers and in fact not even sure if any of the questions  we ask ...are the right ones ...and yet to still be in awe of whatever it is we are in..Thank you for writing something that really connects. Wasn’t into so much and the lines were too short for me. I’m sure this was an effect you were trying to create on the poem but it just didn’t work for me..
keep up the great work though!

All my works are structured the same way, The design allows the reader to focus on the individual words. This highlights each words meaning which I believe gets lost in noise of a sentence or paragraph. The skeletal nature of my works allows the reader to flesh out a meaning unique to their own understanding of the world they inhabit. Thus no two people are reading the same work.
