~ Genius Divided ~

~ Genius Divided ~

I could rehearse, if only I dared
Convey the brushstrokes of nature's paint
With Dali's intent, a canvas most rare
A schizophrenic, artistic, symphonic complaint
One, of brightest day, surrealistically conveyed

Inside of myself, with raging mind
A happiness so sad and set apart
A phantom loss, the snake rewinds
So my pen can't recall, words from the heart
Those of brightest day, locked away in the dark

Yes, I could rehearse, if I could but only remember
To match the candle with the colorful sun
But my mind's medication, distorts the clever
Where my master insists, the bell be rung
And sudden inspiration, manifests as song
A song which mysteriously, has already been sung

Oh Tony magnificent writing all the way not a single word to trip up.
So poetically precise and beautifully dovetailed together.
A real gemstone of a poem and a keeper too.
And your closing line is brilliant and breath taking to read and one this poet never saw coming.
Absolute class my friend.
A poem that doesn't merely sparkle but shines and shines oh so brightly my poetry brother.

Hello Tony :)

Sorry, I am late to the party.
I have read this a few times now.

Firstly I love Salvador Dali. His dreamlike artwork is just amazing. My mother had books of all his works. I use to look at them often. Dripping clocks and strangely elongated elephants :) I think your choice of his works sits perfectly within this poem. Why? Because I sense a need to connect deeply within the subconscious. Attune oneself to the rhythm of life. Feel and feed from it, the answers that drive the pen to page. Form a revelation in poetic form. That speaks sense to you and all who savour its flavoursome words.

The distorted mind can be hard to get to grips with. Especially when we want to tap into that deep all-knowing provider. I felt the struggle and yet eventually as you let go, as you take stock and realise what you must focus on. When the bell rings, there it is, sweeping clean into your mind’s eye. Where your pen can finally make peace with the page

This is a sumptuous write, evoking within the reader a sense of how an artist of any kind, feeds, seeds and breaths out their creativity. Musing and tuning into life's song. Where inspiration longs to manifest into something truly beautiful. There is a knowing sense, as we artists connect. That this knowledge we tap into, has existed for the longest time. That many an artist has swam within its divine waters. Producing an array of wonderment. Such as this very poem.

STUNNING my wonderful poet :)

This is THE most incredible commentary I have ever received on a poem.....especially one that most seem to grapple with....YOU are amazing.....insightful....and a downright dream to have around these pages......I am so blown away at your ability to comprehend the poetic.....especially the intentionally difficult poems......you seem cut right through them like butter......I am going to run away now....before your laser vision cuts into my safe zones!!......smiles.....and thank you so VERY much for these wonderful insights and impressions.....you are a Godsend!!.......Lots of Love to you and yours!!.....T xo  :  )

My mental muscle has just been blissfully exercised Tony .. and for that, I thank you  ..

Oh' and what an amazing fellow he was for sure, I have long been a fan .. One of my many favourites of his is 'Espania' ... I seem to find something new in it every time I dare take another peek .. I suspect your poem here 'Genius Divided' may be something of a literary equivalent ... Neville
