Poem -

The Girl With The Veil

The Girl With The Veil

Her beauty covered
by a veil
consuming our minds
in question

''So I can be judged by what I say and do
not by what I look like''
she claims
her covering
giving her
protection

Her eyes
the windows to
her soul
surely,
the happiness
flicking in them
clearly

Regardless
of the
stereotyped
nonsense
said about
her
she manages to
be joyous
not causing
harm

Maybe the next time
we see the
girl with the
veil
we should
feel
adequate
instead of
unnecessary
fear
