Poem -

given, taken and never given back

given, taken and never given back

They said she was the queen of hearts,
Though hers was shattered apart,
Gone with the wind,
Gone with the person who had stolen it and never gave it back,
Gone with every text and every smile and every tear,
it ceased to be hers,
Given to someone who never had the chance give it back,
They said she was the queen of hearts,
But she was without a heart,
She gave it away,
It died with him,
She lived with his,
Its own sort of prison,
They said she was the queen of hearts,
She owns others
Gave away hers only once,
Tears and pieces of her were left behind,
They said she was the queen of hearts,
But she was without a heart.

I loved how you used the queen of hearts in this write. It gave a good visual within your other words for describing how someone can secretly be broken inside

Wow, such devestation in this write Willa.... heart was stolen, queen of hearts died... I like the analogy of her heart died when she went with him. Fantastic and utterly unquestionably poetry. Just beautiful here. Peace and smiles to you. Welcome to the Cosmos! ;) The Fish of the Sea

This is beautiful, I don't know much about the queen of hearts but it really painted an image in my head. It's very powerful, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!

The power of love can inflict so much pain especially when that person is no longer around. Taking away someone that you love is hurtful and unfair but life must go on. I wish you the best. Joe
