The Giver
There was a man
With a love like no mortal
Has ever loved
His love was ceaseless
Though the world wanted
A bite, he smiled
Not out of spite
But out of love
For this man gave
His life but in pieces
To the spider that crawled
And bawled "I'm so hungry
Might I taste of the flesh
And the blood that you yield"
He gave with no care
Take a bite, I have spare
Of this flesh that I wear
No big deal
And he gave to the
Bugs the birds
And mosquitos
The rest of the flesh
That he wore
As a test and a lesson
To leave an impression
To leave one like never before
