Go Figurt

Lie in darkness, frozen fear,

The screams of demons in my ear,

I shall not move, my eyes wide shut,

Convinced that I'll get my throat cut.

The ceiling squeaks, the floorboards creak,

I start to move, my legs go weak.

I'm forced to move, my eyes now wide,

The figure moves, I try to hide.

But the room is now an open space,

I cannot seem to leave this place.

All doors are blocked, a cackles heard,

The figure moves, my eyes go blurred.

I smell the stench of the figures breath,

I shudder at the smell of death.

I cower now under the bed,

I'm now convinced this figures dead.

The thunder roars, the lightning lights,

The figure has me in his sights.

He's stares at me, I feel such fright.

He suddenly says... “Are you alright?”

I'm shouting now, “Redrum, Redrum”.

Until I see it's only mum.

The dog upon me, I smell his breath,

The stench I thought was the smell of death.

Imagination ran away with me,

Seeing things, I don't want to see.

Lights off, alone, I rest my head.

I see the figure approach my bed....
