Goblin box

What little things do you pick upÂ
To keep inside your goblin boxÂ
Bottle caps, shiny rocks,Â
Flower pettels or missing socks?Â
Torn papers, shiny coins,Â
or glass dulled from the tidesÂ
Things that make you smileÂ
That others just discardÂ
Well That’s not quite the caseÂ
For the box inside my heart
The goblin box inside meÂ
It’s filled with mud and dirtÂ
Not an ounce of hope in thereÂ
Just a bottomsless hurtÂ
It’s filled all with the lettersÂ
That my loved ones should have readÂ
It’s filled with the the pain of waking upÂ
After one two three four five six attemptsÂ
It’s lined with the losing hand I was given
And shards of broken hearts
Caution tape and cigarette budsÂ
That scream get back it get hurtÂ
Its coated in the spit and cumÂ
Of the men who took me apartÂ
It’s got my sons soul insideÂ
But he’s only there to hurtÂ
It’s tied with ropes that I held tightÂ
When others were burning it offÂ
That’s why I keep it deep insideÂ
In the dark where it belongsÂ
My goblin box isn’t shinyÂ
It doesn’t smell of pine and spiceÂ
So I keep it hidden from the worldÂ
As My own personal viceÂ

Agreed! So much raw emotion in this makes for excellent and expessive poetry. Awesome to share your story too, even though it's a bitter one. I really doubt tour a Goblin. Oh I hope you find peace and smiles. I promise you will in the Cosmos! Keep safe. The Fish of the SeaÂ
