God Sent Me Down An Angel

I had a date with an angel, the day that I found you;

God sent you down to help me, and settle His I.O.U.!

For I’d been doing Him some good deeds, and he wanted pay me back;

He thought now it was my turn, to have something that I lacked!

He’d looked into my sad heart, He saw it needed love;

So he picked out a perfect angel, and expressed you from above!

You landed on my doorstep, I heard the doorbell ring;

I opened it and saw you, my heart began to sing!

You looked at me and smiled, I had goosebumps up and down;

Your beauty mesmerized me, my heart began to pound!

I offered you my warm hand, you took it in your own;

And since the moment that we first touched, our love has daily grown!

For not only He’d sent an angel, He’d picked the mate my soul;

His gift just like the Magi, the Incense, Myrrh and Gold!

Now I look daily up to Heaven, for I know that He can see;

I thank Him for His blessing, of sending you to me!
