Poem -

Gone Too Soon

Dedicated to my niece who passed away too soon .

Gone Too Soon

Rest in peace on hallowed ground
In a sea of flowers all around
A lingering pain; my dear niece died
My heart is buried by her side

COVID-19 had taken a part
She displayed a gallant heart
But illness ravished a heroic soul
The clock of life bid a final toll

Body decomposing to the earth
Surrender to nature that gave her birth
Ashes to ashes dust to dust
An elegiac soul left to rust

I heard her voice in the still of night
While moon was full infinitely bright
Dear God how I wish aright
That her thoughts stay with me tonight

I say a solemn prayers of the lonely hours
That I will weep through the years
Her graveyard in silence; a pole for birds
Barren plain and devoid of words

And so I inscribe it with pride
And fill this void inside:

" Here lies the soul of a young girl, who turned the mundane into inspiration and love on this earth and in the sky above " .

Rest in peace Malou

Being Me

R. I. P Malou. I am just out the door  but spotted this heart breaker and could not go by first saying that I am so very sorry for your loss. This Covid thing is awful and too many people make out that it is nothing more than the flu. When someone like your niece dies at such a young age from this virus it proves to us all just how deadly it really is. And if we all wore our masks and kept our distance it would go a long way to keeping us all a lot safer. If we all got vaccinated as well as taking precautions then this would help even more... But I understand how the vaccine is (and should be) our own personal choice. My condolences to you and your family for your very sad loss x

So sad to find this tragic news of your beloved niece. What a wonderful tribute that expresses her beauty, but also the magnitude of her loss and the devastation this Covid is leaving in its quake. You painted her vibrant soul for all of us to gain a glimpse of. I say glimpse because words will never replace such an obvious shining light. My thoughts are with you and all who knew her. Thanks for sharing such a tribute on Cosmo
Hugs Gwen xx

Leah an elegy of a poem bestowed and one so humbling as well.
Tragic and forlorn on the loss of an irreplaceable loved one, but with beauty shining everywhere for little Malou.
And she is now honoured so respectfully with your dignified writing, never to be ever forgotten or fade from one's view.
R.I.P Malou.
A moving tribute you have delicately and lovingly bestowed for you niece and one so young.
My condolences to you and the loved ones around you Leah.
