Good intentions

Good intentions

season of good will..
How much good will
is over kill..
I know you are coming..
I will bake a cake
for all sad people..
not just old people..
All the poor souls
who live alone
365 days a year..
But Christmas..
pricks my conscience..
as I ladle my plate.
with abundance..
of Christian feast,
a greasy frenzy ..
fatted meats and
sweet luxury,
top of the range...
to sooth my soul
I'll bake you a cake..
for one day only..
the rest of the year..
sorry I have no change
