Good Intentions (A Fallen angel's Anguish)

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions,
And truthful lies are the Devil's own Invention.
Travel if you dare, butΒ do not fail to mention
To the keeper of the Gates your true intention.
Β

To the Buzzards and wolves flying through ash and snow,
You are nothing more than food for which the dark river flows,
Full of pitch and blood, broken hearts and dreams;
Β Once your journey is over,
Broken and leaking at the seams,
You will see the Dark One smile
With Smoldering eyes and wicked teeth.
He will not share your tears
Or join your grief,
But will send you on your way
To plant the dark seed.

Yes, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions,
But at the end of the road,
broken weary, and cold,
You'll know that the "good intentions"
Were His invention,
And He will be sure you mention
The real reason why you came to Him,
And knocked upon the Gates,
And when you try to leave and find the road back,
He will drag you down and seal your Fate.
