GRENFELL TOWER THREE YEARS ONE DAY

North Kensington,West London let the country not forget
Three years ago yesterday the course of history was set
A fire broke out at just before one in the morning
No alarm was raised there wasn't any warning

As four o'clock approached more flats were ablaze
A hundred to be exact in one of Britain's darkest days
Seventy two lives were lost on that fateful night
The fire on the news looked a terrifying sight

So I ask the world do not forget Grenfell Tower
Be grateful for what you have at every hour
Seventy two souls didn't ask to die
Investigators are still wondering why

Being Me

I thought it was a washing machine or fridge or something that caught fire and the cladding on the building was flammable (instead of fire proof - cost cutting) making the fire sweep through. I think quite a few other mistakes were also highlighted at the inquest. And no, you are right, we should not forget!
