Poem -

Grey Day On A Sunlit Floor

I watched you
And saw
That you did not take a breath
Wake up I said, wake up
And I saw you strain to break that
rest

Saw your spirit... almost,
Shine within
Though your eyes were marble
still
And I know you tried to stay with
us
I could feel your iron will

Wake up I said, wake up, wake up
Then I kissed your icy hand
But a mother's love is paultry son
When God gives a command
