Poem -

Grey matter ~ you are not dead.

The words chapped my lips
As I unwillingly expelled them
cold like ice, once full of desire
Into the fire to cease
The burning inside the flame

You I proclaim to be
A piece of history
The only heavy burden I wear

As I swear by the rising moon
Amongst the ashes falling

We shall meet again soon
Somewhere on the road ahead

My heart screams violent
you are not dead

Thoughts of you still rotate
inside my head

And I swear I wear the cost
of a lone heart still beating

that once burned with equal aquire
now victim to the grey matter
Of a shattered hearts desire

cold and empty standing
by the fire

lips to speak coldest no more

grey matter upon grey matter
memories cover the floor.
