GRIEF'S BEND

There is much to wander in
Fine summertimes and proud
moments
Every sleigh bell of Christmas
Every old gone new year
Childhood stories mingled
with teenage glories
Golden moments and
heartbreaks and mayhem
Young man swagger ambitions
and dreams
Conquests achievements, all
the things a life means, yes
Our garden bursts flowers son
It is full to the seams
And the pride of all time when
You stood by my side, for
Friend you were to me
Friend comfort and guide
Kind fair and honest, though
A little troubled at times, but
You lived a full life son
Your memory shines
It lights up our garden, there
Is so much to see, all the
Colours you were, all there
Waiting for me
And hark, your fine song
All the melody you were
I hear all the notes son, feel
The memories stir
Â
Too many to count up but I see
them bloom there
In the garden of we, there is
not once inch bare, yes
There is much to wander in
To remember and see, to pick
up and cherish and hold close
to me, and
One day I'll enter and find you
again
I just need a short while to rest
At grief's bend

Wish you a New Year be peaceful and healthy wherever you are.
This is a beautiful poem, Marion. Obviously it is penned in great grief but what I see here is a beautiful, beautiful tribute to your gorgeous boy. What a garden! Hugs x
