Growing Up Where I Once Lived

I grew up dramatized by real life Freddy Kruegers -n- Michael Myers, police brutality, fast money, -n- if you ever crossed a man, retaliation was desired, matter of fact it was a must, mama whipped my ass, but she the one who taught me how 2 cuss, never cared when I sat at on the bus, where I lived, you became a criminal as a kid, mama had alopecia so she wore a wig, I was so ashamed 4 she smoked crack cocaine, but this was the norm where I lived, where having a father was a myth, so we sold drugs for new outfits-n-new kicks, picture being 12 years old -n- for a rock, a grown ass woman would suck your d*ck, this is some one’s mother, but she’s referred 2 as a pipehead ass b*tch, couldn’t go 2 bed at night unless I burned incense, I dropped out of school -n- left home early -n- started selling drugs, figured this was my fastest way 2 get rich and I did, these politicians ain’t sh*t, I’ll never snitch, did my time -n- came home, blessed 2 get out -n- not have life behind a fence, now I give back 2 where I once lived, so these kids don’t do what I did or live how I lived, it’s a sad situation, but it is what it is, when you grow up where I once lived, “I love you DC Uptown 4 Life, NW Baby :-)  Real talk.”

So I sit back
In my Benz and
I see myself in
So many of these
Kids tryna stay
Safe -n- make it
Out this bullsh*t

Growing up in the place where he grew up I think it is a good title, even if growth always means higher, when it grows down usually lessens

Writing has a great power because of the words, the question is if this great power is directed to good or bad things, today refers to the political, and financial corruption but that corruption influences also the words and some writers and journalists who live off them, some say because obviously not all journalists and writers pervert the information nor are corrupt.

The writing of Nakym Sheffield has power because it exposes a reality, boys and girls of the neighborhood looking for its place, a place that very often is replaced by crime and drugs.

The author with his title just to make it clear that despite all those fatalities described in his poem you can grow and try to understand the real reasons and why of things. A greeting and congratulations on the poem.

Greetings, apart from the power composition seems honest, sincere and bright.
