Guilty Days

Guilty Days

I know I'm escaping,
Writing all day about anything,
Just to avoid my duties,
The demands of a mom and wife.

When my kids ask me to go somewhere,
Looking at dirty dishes to clean,
And laundry piling high,
The chores that still need done.

Guilt finally catches up to me,
To accept I'm depressed,
When I break down and cry,
To ask for someone to help.

These are days of humbling,
When strength is not found,
And praying I will get grace,
My family to forgive me again.
