Halloween

Kettles boiling, warm woolie socks, leaves change from green to golden yellows and browns
Little wicthes can be seen all over the town
Sticky apples on sticks, pumpkins that are alight at each door
Eyes widen while stories are told of vampires and gouls
Bangers and bombfires and ghost running wild
No use putting your head under the covers
There is no where you can hide
Creeks on the staircase that make your blood run cold
Hairs will stand on the back of your neck
These are the signs that it is near, halloween the best time of the year
Be afaird, look around and stay close to home
Monsters on every street they will roam
And if you happen to meet one
Dont show them your fear
They may go away, but they ll be back for you next year.

Louise I read and liked your poem. It reads well and you have captured the elements of a dark Halloween night. My only regret is you didn't link all your wonderful ideas together to creat a story to make the hairs on our neck tingle. Think of walking home at night , past the graveyard and then something cracked. No I don't know what it was because I was off running. That sort of thing. Best wishes.
Hi Cleveland.Gibson :)
Thank you so much for your comment, i am grateful for your view.
I would have added more spook if that is what i was going for with this, but it was more of a general Halloween poem for all ages.
Believe me i can spook it up, and may before the end of October :)
Thanks again, always welcome other views.
:) Louise
You are welcome, Louise. I guess every comment makes the writing worth while. Aside , I was wondering if you belong to a family of writers. If so that's a double win. Well done again.

Hi Cleveland. Gibson :)
Spooky poem has been written and entered, have a look, hope you like it. :)
Why would you think i belong to a family of writers? No is the answer, however my son is a brilliant writer :)
Thanks again for your thoughts and comments, always welcome.

Hi Louise
You wrote:"Why would you think i belong to a family of writers? No is the answer, however my son is a brilliant writer. "
I couldn't help but wonder if you were connected in a distant sort of way with the author of 'Alice In Wonderland.'' Only you would know.
Best wishes
Cleveland
Dear Cleveland . Gibson,
Yes you are so right, of course my son is family :) my mistake, i suppose i see my son as being belong to my family and born of course when i was in my adult years, so he may say he belongs to a family of writers when his mother has been writing since childhood, which i have. But no my mother, father, sisters do not write. As for Louis Carroll the brilliant writer of Alice in Wonderland, wow.. i wish i was related or had even a tiny bit of her talent. You are not the first to ask me this question Cleveland . Gibson. When i give my name I almost always hear, ahhh like Louis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland writer. :) but sadly no i am not related :/ Hope you got a chance to have a look at my "spooky poem" - Be Gone - Love to hear your thoughts on this poem Cleveland .Gibson as you inspired me to write a more chilling halloween poem. :) thanks and have a good rest of the week. :)
