Halloween - A tale

When the bleak drape of
autumn
falls over my bones
I put on my pale sombre veil and
I get out for a wee stroll.
And the black rose
in my chest
begins to
lose its petals and I
become the eeriest being
around.
My birch-fingers start to
move in the chilly air
and touch the stones of the
graveyard walls.
I go through the black spiky gate
with my cripple twig-legs
dragging my curd gown.
It's night.
The wind strokes
my hairless skull
and my eye orbites peer
into the engulfing dusk.
And all I see is
weird lit pumpkins glowing my
way home.
I'll follow the dim light
Until I'm home.
My rose throbs
under my phantom breasts
at the thought you'll be waiting for my
return.
And I come
And here you are
And Halloween will be
our eternal wedding day
two beautiful bony brides.
