Hand in Hand, Refugee

You hold my hand as we hide through it all,
the pain and suffering that destroyed our home.
We fled but through it all you still held my hand .
You keep me still as others cry out in pain or in sorrow ,
for abandoning is the only hope we have .
Even though I am in pain or I am sad, with our hand locked together I a happy.
Hand in hand we can face anything.

It will be hard, I will keep her calm by holding her hand.
It will be tough, moving to another country.
We will not be treated as others are,
but with our hands locked together we will be fine.
We will never be normal,
always trying to prove our loyalty to our new country.
It will be hard to start a new life her,
but holding hands we will start a new life together.
Hand in hand we can face anything.
