Footprints In My Heart

Footprints In My Heart

The day you walked into my life, and ran up to my side;

I had feelings that I’d never felt, and such tears of joy I cried!

For I’d found my doggie soulmate, I knew it from the start;

You jumped into my arms with kiss, and left your footprints in my heart!

For thirteen years we shared our love, you brought me the purest bliss;

And always, when I’d have to take a trip, so sorely you I’d miss!

I’d count the hours till my return; you’d be waiting by the door;

You’d smother me with all your love, as I laid down on the floor!

But last year they came and took you back, the Angels brought you home;

To the “Doggie Heaven” past the stars, now in Paradise you roam!

I still cry for you each day and night, I never wanted you to depart;

But one part of you that will never leave, are your footprints in my heart!

Hi Cherie,

Awww.  Mondays for me are always the toughest day of the week, for that's the one that he left the earth on.  Yet, today, a heartbreaking dichotomy, I mourn his loss, yet celebrate my sons birth 49 years ago.  Two ends of the spectrum; so close, but yet so far.  Joy and heartbreak.

Hugs, Peace and Love,

No matter what transpired in the morning.  What ill words you may have said.  When you come home at the end of the day your four legged friend will always enthusiastically greet you as you walk through the door.

Hi Kimmy,

True for most people, but this was also my soulmate.   As the saying goes, "man's best friend is his dog",  And that was certainly the case with Nico and me.  But, well beyond friendship, I considered him my son.  He changed my whole life for many reasons I won't get into.  Now, without him, I've lost a piece of my soul.  Thank you so much for your kind message.  And you're absolutely right; there is nothing like coming home to that beautiful little face waiting for you at the door.

peace and Love,

xox Larry
