Happy Birthday To Me
Another year has passed now, ‘tis the day when I was born;
On July the 20th, nineteen and forty four then, at three thirty in the morn!
About the time that I was entering, some German generals had a plan;
They attempted to kill Adolf Hitler, a most repugnant man!
Then twenty five years later, in nineteen sixty nine;
Another event happened, that went down for all of time!
For on that day July the twentieth, the world would sway and swoon;
For our dear country had just landed, the first men on the moon!
I look back to other birthdays, that my Parents threw for me;
A young lad so blessed with their love, and how they spoiled me!
Oh, to have them here still beside me, on my seventy second birthday;
It would be the greatest present I could ever wish for, but they’ve long since passed away!

Oh my Larry,
I love the picture of you three. Your mother is so beautiful. You are like your dad and you have your mums lovely smile and you look so cute, you remind me of my Andrew when he was that age, you are both quite similar in looks which is another interesting connection we have. Well done for incorporating those two important events. I remember watching the moon landing on the cinema screen in school when I was 10 in Dortmund, Germany when my dad was in the army. This is a wonderful piece, well done sweetie and have a wonderful birthday my special boy!
