Haunted

I lay many of night
Looking for shut eye
While I am irrelevant to it
High winds sending chills
Hitting my nerves harshly
Cold, and it stung
Shivering under sheets
Shouting to myself “ you’re wrong! “
But I knew, I suddenly knew
I felt a presence
A presence that was full of distraught
Packed with memories
Gathered in hate
On top of confusion
Shamed by mistakes
I was haunted by the dead
Haunted by the past of me
That was carelessly forgetful
The one I was no more
I fought with her verbally
Even though she hysterically laughed in the face of the new her
Shaking her head
Spitting that I was weak
Coming from the person who was fighting to be wrong
And wanting to be right
Knowing that the present time was the key after all
No admitted statements saying that I had victory
Cause she was stubborn
A complication to me
To herself
