HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY BOSS

"Have a wonderful day boss" that's what he said
Unusual thing to say for a person with no bed
I could tell he slept on the street last night
His clothes were scruffy and didn't fit right

A week's worth of stubble was on his chin
The odour he gave a mixture of beer and gin
He asked me for money and any loose change
Passers by thought him to be odd and strange

I did indeed have a most wonderful day
Full of sunshine and laughter came my way
What of the homeless man I don't really know
Just another of life's fallouts dealt a knockout blow
