Poem -

Hazel

to my sister

When I looked at you I adored you

The way your eyes glistened
The way that whenever the sun would catch a glimpse of the hazel theyd swirl
Your eyes would like the sweet caramlized caramel drizzle upon the coffee

Though sometimes I hate them
Whenever I catch the glimpse of them
now I want to ruin them
Feed them to the wolves out of pure jealousy and rage
Pure anger that feasts throughout my throat making me fuel red and suddenly burst

I burst and scream to which you scream
Next thing you know it’s pounding and so so loud
The yelling overlaps each other to now I have no idea what we’re yelling about

I just know we’re yelling
And I’m yelling
And you’re yelling
And while we yell I can’t help but to stare into the eyes of hatred

The eyes I hate so much that I once adored
