Poem -

Healing

Internal wounds

Fill you with pain.

You try to stitch them up,

But somehow they become undone.

You cover them with a bandage,

But the blood only seeps through.

You take medication to ease the pain,

But as the numbness goes away,

The pain returns with a vengeance.

You soon realize,

The wounds will be there forever.

but over time,

They will heal.

And turn into scars.

A memory of the past,

But no longer causing pain.
