Heart Lights

Heart Lights

The time went away so quickly.
Where did it fly to?
It seems like only yesterday.
But age has taken its toll on me.
And has taken you from me.
I remember the first time I saw you.
You wore a yellow sundress
I thought how bright you were.
Everything glowed in your light.
The world was illuminated by you.
The days shone in golden rays
Christmas Thanksgiving Easter
All called for you
to make them shine.
My God I loved you so much.
Even dull and boring old me
Glowed in your light.
And even now
after all this time
On dark cloudy days
I sit and think of you
And your light still shines
It glows from my heart.
