Heavenly Slant

Heavenly Slant

We all arrived, your enemies and all your friends,
there was nowhere else where any love transcends;
daggered glances across the room, you should be in hell,
but the outcome was God's compassion, you couldn't tell.

You were cast into a play but forgot prompts so they say,
some of you were so fucking smart but now you're going to pay;
but YOU were inexcusable - just look at the things you did,
every time you had a problem, you just ran away and hid.

God appointed tasks - the smart arses had to clean toilets,
Boy George carried on from New York, drugless as it gets;
you, cleaning cherubs wings as you were so bloody perfect,
never a thought for others, should have been more circumspect.

The inmates had a party - 'Oh, so now you're talking to me,'
'No, ' I said, 'Finally it was my problems that you couldn't see.'
