Hell Bound.

I shake and shudder.
As i lie in the gutter.
Humans walk by.
They don't care if i die.
My body unwell.
From grace it has fell.
My mind sicker.
Its once bright light does now only flicker.
My clothes dirty and torn.
Christ why was i born.
I have gone from riches to rags.
I drink no more fine wine i only now drink the dregs.
From me gods decency has deserted.
In me debauchery the devil has inserted.
I now look hell in the face.
Knowing it will be my final resting place.
Here i lie in a drunken heap.
Christ isn't life cheap.

These words, these loaded words,Β make the reader stop and think. It is a travesty that in certain areas of society, life has, indeed, become sooo cheap. This world is such a vibrant, beautiful place, but it has its shadows and in them lie the broken. The discarded. And the thing is,Β any single one of us can end up on the scrap heap of life but for a little luck.
A fabulous write, William. Let's hope governments and society get its act together soon x
