Hello, Goodbye

Hello, Goodbye

Cheeks flushed, noses red
summer has taken to its bed
he hibernates all winter long
doesn't like it's breezy song

Recovers, recuperates
sleeps in late
blankets himself in warmth
his heat from the homely hearth

Gazes sadly out the window
at the falling snow
has never felt a flake
or how long to melt it takes

Spring puts a spring in his walk
of getting out he starts to talk
becomes more animated
not so deflated

Wants to be back in his full-time position
his special skills reaching fruition
so greet him gladly
winter departs sadly
