Poem -

Help Wanted

Rising early, pirates on the wires squawk the call
struggling to throw off Morpheus
a stubbed toe, a fall

Coffee gurgles
the daily rag proffers nothing yet
a wrestling match with inertia
stomach growls, a cigarette

Nicotine is in the nick of time
a deadly nursery rhyme
but what else to do
when nobody wants you

So here in webness I sit
tangled in my own devices
the price is never right when you expect it free

But what do you expect from me
another pseudo-intellectual
hyperkinetical
laid back, screwed up
yes I've got a pickup truck
now and then outta luck
but usually ain't doin' too bad sorta guy

The fiscal noose grows tighter
brie's not our cup of tea
we're not extravagant
so what's happening?
