The Helper

I know you say you love me,
but please don't push and shove me.
I know you want to help me,
but please just let me be.
I see things fine on my own,
I don't always need to be shown.
I shouldn't always have to tell you why,
I'm wiping a tear from my eye.
I know you're trying to help me succeed,
wipe the blood away, when I bleed,
but if I never do anything on my own,
there are so many skills I'll never hone;
I know you just want to help me,
but can't you see?
If you've helped me all along
I'll have never grown strong.

This is a great and relatable write! In a relationship, there needs to be some level of independence and you have captured this element perfectly!
great rhyme scheme

Great poem, that reminds me of how my mom always tried to wrap me up in cotton wool. Congrats x
