HER SWAN SONG

The ocean drowned in a fire
Set alight by a raging sky
Angry at the robust moon
That pulled the tides to the clouds
A mermaid swam in the silver light
Azure crystals on her midnight breasts
Entangling her wavy hair in thought
As the seaweeds tried to wrest her plaintive song
But she was one possessed by madness
Wooing the heavens to fall to their doom
And as they fell upon the screaming ocean
She sank into its burning depths
Enticing eternity to consummate her
But eternity wouldn’t trade its chastity
And the heavens drew their veil across her face
