Highrise

Darkness in these highrise apartment
and some people call it home.
I call it imprisonment in my environment.
A prison that keep me locked down in the system.
The highrise apartment so small.
I feel like I'm suffocating.
I never see sunlight from my windows.
I can tell these highrise apartments was place intentionally in the parts of the gloomy city.
The rats live freely and the roaches laying eggs in every apartment.
On every corner there is a hustla
and on every corner of that corner is a officer.
Kids playing in a park with weed bags and blunt empties.
I look into other people faces and wonder can they see what I see.
I see a highrise with no hope in a area filled with drugs, liquors, and whores.
I see a highrise in my city where people wait on a wait list so they wouldn't be homeless.
I see sadness everywhere I turn and
birthdays feels like a punishment.
On my block where these highrise are built,
even when the sun is shining everything still look gloomy grey.
Every highrise is painted brown, grey, and tan.
Those are the colors that keep me sad and down.
Those are the same colors the government use in every police station.
Those are the same colors the government use in every courtroom.
Those are the same colors the government uses in the prison system.
This system was created unequally.
Highrise lowclass poverty property still rise in cash for the rich highclass.

I totally understand, yes I can see what you see in a different but same view, such as in poor highrise apartment neighborhoods, there are no golf courts, no where for young kids to continue learning after school. There are no free book stands or anything leading to education period or anything that will inspire you to highrise in Education. I feel the pain.
I love to paint a picture with my words so I'm glad you can Invision something from my words.
Thank you for the art in all you have done here.
