Poem -

his absence of love.

Have I told you that I miss him
The way he would always smile

That certain look in his eye's
of sky blue,

silently I'm still mourning you,

His smell has left every room now
this space just empty,

yet so full I could suffocate
willingly within them,

deprived longing to be refilled,

I once walked my corridor
basking in the scent of him,

though it's never left my mind
my mind has left me plenty,

Have I told you that I miss him
the way his lips would gently part
when he would go to speak,

Life with him much brighter
Suddenly all is bleak,

Something about him strengthened me
but left me feeling weak,

how does a heart attached so deeply
learn to live alone,

even the candles refuse to melt
in his absence,

my soul is still burning
in yearning,

my nights are long and darker now
living without him near,

though the memories haunt me still
His vision is always here,

I just can't physically touch him
nor hold his body close,

Have I told you that I miss him
my one and only ghost,

His flesh is absent from mine
though our bones and blood are one,

Never shall such a love fade
nor completely come undone,

I lay there in the shadows
shedding tears beyond the sun,

Have I told you that I love him
that he I miss the most,

haunted by his absence of love
my one and only ghost.

AUTHOR WILLIAMS...

Honorable Poetess Nardine Sanderson,

Great write, thanks for sharing, this is strong and carry a vital part from among your verses, Bible says:

Our LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.…

Quote from theĀ  Genesis 2: 23

The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."
Ā

I like the below lines

Have I told you that I miss him
my one and only ghost,

His flesh is absent from mine
though our bones and blood are one,

Never shall such a love fade
nor completely come undone,

I lay there in the shadows
shedding tears beyond the sun,

Have I told you that I love him
that he I miss the most,

haunted by his absence of love
my one and only ghost.
