HOLDING ON TO DADDY'S HAND

HOLDING ON TO DADDY'S HAND

Holding on to my daddy's hand
Happened by accident and wasn't planned
It just seemed a natural thing to do
His last few days on earth at eighty two

Holding on to my daddy's hand
Is something I couldn't quite understand
Why others should live and he should die
I must be brave and do not cry

Holding on to my daddy's hand
He has now been taken to another land
No more suffering and no more pain
Our loss on earth is heaven's gain
