Poem -

hollow ground .

We sparked a fire
upon hollow ground

In the center of the garden
Of past living

In hopes the embers
would awaken

all lost love
That was taken

We were hopeful
That death

Would be forgiving
Returning love

To the land
Of the living

But a storm
Brew overhead

As we looked into
each others eyes

And cried those
Frozen tears

The fire
distinguished

Our hearts
Filled with fear's

Within our
Cries

Beneath the
Blackened skies

The love we knew
Where dead

Nothing more
to prove

The silence
Spoke in Erie tongue

Death could not
Be overcome

Our efforts here
Were done

Standing on the hollow ground
Until the rising sun.
