Poem -

Hollow Leg

Early morning of each day
Around the crack of dawn
Ignore the birds, but hear you say
Your chick-a-dee-dee-dee-dee song

Dreams capture that big garden
Always flourishing a plenty
Scarecrow on duty to guard it
So we would never find it empty

That yard went on for miles
At least then felt like it did
Was the birthplace of my smiles
And best memories as a kid

My childhood says Thank you
For all that's worth of reminiscing
Teen Ashley never forgot who
Was at my school when I was missing

Better late than never
Finally pay you due respect
Those times held dear forever
And your legacy I won't forget
