Home

Home is a place
with socks on the floor,
dust under the bed,
and a random-stuff drawer.

Home is a place
with odd picture frames,
mismatched plates,
and piece-missing games.

Home is a place
with jobs still to do,
crosswords half done,
and an open-door loo.

It's not about logic,
perfection or design.
It's not about space,
or the bank's bottom line.

Home has a heart,
a rhythm, a beat.
Home is a place
where your people meet.

Home is our own,
what feels totally yours.
Bless it for always
having socks on the floor.
