Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

My home is my refuge, my comfortable cover
My guardian angel, my sensual lover.. there is no where on earth I would rather be, than sat on my sofa with my mug of tea.. call me old fashioned, perhaps I am gettin old but my home protects me from chilliness out in the cold..four walls and square windows so I can look out at my view and a chimney on my roof for the smoke to blow through

My home is my haven my protection of harm with my log fire in the hearth keeping me cozy and warm..I lock my doors every evening to bid darkness goodnight then I unlock them each morning to welcome the light..I have everything I need in my wonderful home it fulfills my heart like a beautiful poem..I have dwelled  over forty one years in my little house since the day that I wed my husband, my spouse..

Forty one years is a very long time so my devotion to my home is sweetly sublime.. I imagine the day when I will not be here,  in my home that I love as it holds me so dear.. tho my body shall rise and take to the skies when the heavenly angels call me in demise.. my spirit shall stay in my home eternally wandering my corridors happy and free..I shall live all my life til life needs me no more in my beautiful home that I truly adore

A Lonely Journey

Jilliander,
First of all, that was great! Those first 2 lines are fantastic! Just draws you in, and loved the rhyme. Wonderful!! Second of all, life will always need you(it needs more people like you), but sometimes we can't stay forever.
Thirdly, I love that your house is made of yarn. Mine is made of sticks, and some wolf blew it down. ; )
Excellent writing, my friend!

Matthew.

Hi Jil, this is a great .. home is where our heart is,,, I have also been living in the same place, a small village in the south of Holland,  for 34 yrs. now. And I have no intention of moving out.. just a small home for me and my cat. I had a dog before, but he died two yrs. ago....
I go home to my hometown in the Philippines from time to time, but it's different now. I feel I don't belong there anymore,  perhaps because I've been gone for so long... though I still miss my family a lot.

Katina Woodruff...

What a lyrical piece.

There is a whimsical feeling to the poem. You paint the portrait of a loving home that fills your heart and mind so that you can keep spinning out these beautiful poems. I really enjoy reading your poetry because, there is always rhythm to be heard.

Great poem Jill.

Glad I read it this morning. It made me think about the home I grew up in, although the house was more than 100 years old and falling down. We made lasting memories there.

Glad you have a nice home to stay warm in this winter season.
