homeless

Homeless

You are homeless

I am homeless

We are homeless

Every black man

Every black woman

We are out in the cold

Shivering, alone, helpless but never hopeless

We are out there, an endangered population

Scared, sad, empty, vulnerable

Tell me something why anytime all looks well

Blue uniform and boots cuff us at the streets of Barney’s in New York

You shoot me at the playgrounds of North Carolina

You choke me when I am naked and defenseless

Why?

Tell me something why you would shoot me with my back turned after you sympathize my loss

We are homeless

I am homeless

You are homeless

Every black man is homeless

Every black woman is homeless

We need change

When will change come?

For a homeless man like us
