Hope is not lost

To many sleepless nights I lay awake
Trapped in thoughts of horror, disaster my undeniable fate
To much to handle for such a strong girl
No one to help her through this world
She met a man and she thought it was love
She thanked whoever watched from above
But love faded fast for he was not true
A wife he had and a son too
No one to help her so she did the unthinkable
A call to the doctors now she's forgettable
A child that could have grew does not have a life
For this mother could not be its father's wife
Alone and lost in a hospital bed
The Crying and screaming is all in her head
Sitting in silence, no words to be said
She reaches down in horror and can feel blood on the bed
But no one will understand what she has done
Because she's just turned 19, she's still very young
With an old heart she feels so alone
Her mother the only hero she's known
To help her and comfort her on her worst day
The chill of that room always will stay
But things will get better I know they must
For there has to be someone she can trust
Time goes by and days turn to months
Drinking and drugs became her crunch
One night stands from meaningless friends
She thought of different ways to make her life end
Until one day when she took a chance
A genuine man made a stance
With problems of his own he set aside
To love a broken girl who wants to hide
To make her feel cherished, special and true
Slowly he learns what she's been through
Though he may not understand everything
He doesn't know the joy his presence will bring
The simplest gesture, his hand grazed her back
She knew at that moment her life's back on track
But life won't be easy, there's always ups and downs
Scowling faces, heartbreaking frowns
But love is true when you want it to be
They put love out there for all to see
A once sad girl has now been found
By a man of true honor
Who makes her feel proud
The unthinkable unforgettable things she's done
All slowly fade away because of one.
